Elizabeth Patterson
Opera Singer | Voice Teacher

Elizabeth Patterson is a classical soprano and a voice teacher. Raised in Pennsylvania by a family of accordionists, she upended the family tradition and pursued her love of singing.  She has since settled down in Foster City, CA with her husband, John, her son, Remy, and her cat, Juniper.

Elizabeth performs regularly in operas throughout the Bay Area. She has sung with San Francisco Opera Guild, Opera Cultura, Pocket Opera, and Phénix Opera, among other Bay Area companies. Elizabeth is best known for her regular appearances with Opera Cultura as the sly seductress Carmela in La Llorona. Her other roles include Mimi (La Boheme), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Ernestina (L'Occasione Fa il Ladro), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), First Witch (Dido and Aeneas), Anna Gomez (The Consul), Giulia (La Scala di Seta), Chiquita (Coyotes and Rabbits), Waldvogel (Siegfried), Monica (The Medium), Oscar (Un Ballo in Maschera), and Gerhilde (Die Walküre). ​

 

Offstage, Elizabeth leads a voice studio of 40+ students. Her students have sung with opera and musical theater companies, have been accepted into college theater programs, and have pursued music careers.

Elizabeth holds a Master of Music degree from Duquesne University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Gettysburg College.
